Customized printing isn’t available for low volume order

Why low volume order for packaging pouch is not acceptable if there is a customize printing on the surface.

So many customer are very confused about this, but the answer is quite simple , the printing cost is too high for low volume order. But if you are a customer who need to order some packing pouch, for sure you can not accept such an answer. There must be a very strong conflict between supplier and customer if there is no good solution.

Please remember that never say “no” to any customer. There must be a solution for this problem, such as
Increase the price or Increase the quantity, i guess few customer will accept price increase. But increase quantity, you can try.

NOW THE QUESTION IS:

How can we communicate with customer to increase the quantity of order if there is a multi-color printing.

Each end customer prefer printing the brand information on the packaging pouch to sticking a label on the bag.

It is very popular to dress your products up with a very beautiful bag or pouch in the modern time, but few people understood that It is not very easy to buy a perfect pouch with printing when the volume is low. In the mind of most customer, go and find a supplier who can produce the packing bag and ask them to add some brand information on the surface. There must be a supplier who are willing to accept the low volume order. Technically, yes. But actually, it is really not so easy to make this happen.

Here , assume you are a coffee bean seller in the market and plan to start a promotion at “BLACK FRIDAY”, the promotion quantity is 2000 pieces.

When you discuss with your packaging pouch supplier, absolutely they will refuse to print on these 2000 pieces bags.

WHY?
Low volume order makes producing cost very high .

The printing equipment is very expensive , all the customer share one or two printing line. The preparation of the “printing roller” is very complex. The printing roller should be cleaned before use, why? That is because roller is one kind of reuse component for the production line and if there are some residual ink on the roller, it will make the color is different as it supposed to be.

How to clean the printing roller, water? Of course not. Generally speaking, use gasoline.

• The whole procedure is quite complicated.
• Firstly , load the gasoline and chemical water in the clean tank.
• Then install the wiper on the clean tank and put the roller in.
• Secondly , adjust the screw and wiper to keep 40 degrees on the roller surface.
• Then move the roller longitudinally and laterally, the residual ink will be wiped by the wiper. Thirdly scrubbed the roller and polishing with wax.
• The whole procedure takes at least 2hours for a professional cleaner.

What is next ?
Start the production?
Wrong again. Before starting the mass production, the machine should be warmed up and then pre-printing for color contrast with the color chips.
Assume the order quantity is 2000pieces, the real producing time is 50minits but the preparation takes 4hours , that is why low volume order is not accepted by supplier.
